Only time I ever hallucinated in my life I was on Ambien (as well as painkillers).
I saw pretty little white flowers blooming on my bedroom floor and talked with someone through the TV set.
finally i was having an anointed moment.
i looked up and saw jesus on his throne saying "my dear ray, i am coming soon.
yes soon i am coming and i will be coming quickly so be prepared.".

before the usual suspects start reaching for the pich-forks and forming a mob, i invite you to actually read and consider this, not just leap to conclusions.. http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/news/regions/americas/united-states/130607/7-graphs-america-overrated-nsa-prism-privacy.
why do i care?
it seems the people being screwed the most are also the most visciferous defenders of the status quo which sees them being severely disadvantaged.. maternity leave?
Interesting, but I didn't really need any graphs to know how the US stacks up against the rest of the world!
As great of a country as it is in many respects, there's a lot of room from improvement (to put it mildly)
well, i'm back on jwn so i may as well start a new thread!.
this story caught my eye on sky news recently.... http://news.sky.com/story/1104007/google-balloon-project-gets-off-the-ground.
it's basically a new initiative from google to bring the internet to far flung parts of the earth including parts of africa that are simply not wired up to the internet yet.. i'm not sure how the accessibility will work in terms of subscriptions etc, but google seem serious about it and early tests have been positive.. so, the question raised in my mind was, could this turn the tide against the watchtower?
In the 20th century, Bell Labs performed some crazy 'stunts' not unlike this. . . and they were arguably the worlds greatest innovator of communications technology.
I'm glad to see Google doing what they're doing.
[And a welcome back to CEDARS, btw]
help me people!
i can't think of anything good that the old, drunk misogynist ever did.
what "good" things made jesus choose him?.
I find it interesting that even my wife, who has never (to my knowledge!) read "apostate" literature, has an overall negative image of Rutherford. For example, in the July 15 WT, she was able to read between the lines that the "progress" made in the org around 1918/19 was really just a power grab by Rutherford. I asked, How do you know that?. . . . .
one of the most persistent myths on this website is that jws are already in decline, the rot has set in, and the descent of the watchtower is inevitable from here on in.
unfortunately the facts do not bear this out.
jws are still increasing even in most developing countries, and they are still growing worldwide at a faster rate than the general population.
The organization itself makes a very big deal out of any indications of growth no matter how seemingly trivial.
Not only that, they make a big deal out of any indications of decline. For instance, at the DC they discussed changes in the past 5 years: less magazines, smaller magazines, less meetings. What do these indicate? A progressive organization!
so it used to be that all dramas were ot.
period, that was it.. then they started incorporating a "modern day" application of the ot drama where actors in the present day reflected on the story.. then they started using some highly fictionalized nt characters in dramas (never jesus of course).
in the past few years we've been getting more "modern dramas", just about people in the present dealing with their "problems".
L3G - yeah, that's what I thought, too. Play the persecution card.
so after the district convention was over, i asked my wife what her overall impression was.
she said, "maybe something has changed, or maybe it's your influence that i see things differently now, but a lot of those talks sounded more threatening than anything.
not loving, not really hopeful, just threatening.
So what kind of questions/points could I make on the way over to get her in the right frame of mind, more receptive to post convention discussions?
I really didn't do anything specific to "prime" my wife beforehand. . . except with the apostate talk. I told her to listen carefully because its all true and they will describe me to a 'T'!
I also told her that old lawyers saying someone posted here. . . " If the facts are on your side, argue the facts. If the law is on your side, argue the law. If neither the facts or the law are on your side, make an ad hominem attack"

MATT2414 - I don't think it was particularly more "threatening" than any previous DC, but is just the usual "do more this, stop doing that, do more more more because, well, you never know! You don't want to end up like a burnt hot dog at Armageddon". Basically same old same old, but I think it just seemed more threatening to my wife because she is slowly seeing it for what it is.
VIDIOT - yup!

Again, I'd just like to thank the governing body for their excellent program! I probably wouldn't be able to help my wife awaken to TTATT without you guys. So much great material - keep it coming!
okay, i just think its kind of funny, but it's also pretty telling as well.
all of my wife's family are pretty deep into the "truth", but they don't mind speaking up either.. here's some of their (not my) comments:.
saturday was waayyyyy to long.
ANNOMALY - all I know is that it was on Saturday (I wasn't there for that day)
